I've had mine maybe 3 years now. It's the best hair dryer ever. It's not too heavy, and it just works better than those super expensive ones. There really is no need to spend $200 on a hair dryer. You will be so happy with this.
How can you say this is heavy?

In the 40 dollar price range, this model of Andis (ACM-1) honestly reigns supreme. It has a good blow, all the features you need, and the ionic/cermanic features give you a frizz-free shine and quick dry. Unlike my old dryer it's not too long, and it's also sturdy. Likewise... The attachments are great, and they stay on perfect. The attachments will not budge just so long as you slide them on securely. They slide ~over~ the nozzle, not inside of it, so the farther you push the attachment on, the more secure it will be. What else? I can't imagine it breaking, it's solid. Also, the weight... Why do people think this is heavy? Most of my other dryers were way worse. You would have to be pretty weak to find this heavy, and I'm pretty scrawny myself! Overall, I'm impressed, and I'm happy I was able to get an affordable quality dryer that leaves my hair healthy and fluffly after spending a LOT on my flat iron. ;)

My old hair dryer had no "cool shot" on it so when it gave out I selected the Andis. What a good decision I made! It dries my hair in no time and the cool shot of air sets my style, all I need is a shot of hair spray and I am out the door. This is a professional quality product for an excellent price point.
It is the best dryer I have owned.

pro: Controls for heatand air are seperate. Con: Is a bit heavy.

I first used this model of dryer when we stayed at the Mirage Hotel in LasVegas. I could not believe how much faster it dried my long, thick hair. I ordered it online as soon as we got home and have not been disappointed. I usually never travel with a hair dryer but I may have to start packing this one because I am now spoiled.
