Love It!!

This is the second Maximus I have purchased because the first one after 5 years now of using it 6-7 days a week is not as hot as it used to be. If you brush your hair first, the detangling pins do NOT hurt what so ever, they just seperate your hair so that each strand can get smooth and frizz free! What I love most about this iron is how healthy and shiny your hair looks! And for added bonus if your twist the iron around your hair at the ends, it makes for beautiful soft curls like a curling iron would do, but you only need this one tool! Totally worth the money and the best iron out there!!!

I can't live with out this straightner. I will never buy any other hair straightner again. This is the best product for straight hair on the market, hands down..
Awesome!

This product works great on my hair! If its pulling your hair out, you're just doing it wrong because i have thick curly hair (really, i mean its not nappy but its thick) and i don't know if you know this but if you have more ethnic hair you have to detangle it before you use a straightening product for the best results and no hair being pulled out
Can't live without it!

My hair is long and I section it. I do the whole bottom half of my head first, then I do smaller sections around the top. I air dry my hair first which is thin, frizzy and curly. It only takes me 10 minutes to straighten and I don't even use the steam. I did in the beginning, but it works so well without it that I don't bother. You just need to know how to use it properly and you'll be fine. Watch the instructional video first. Piece of cake. Be sure to comb through each section before straightening and don't hold it too tight on your hair or of course you will rip it out of your head because it's not flat plates. I live in south FL and it's very humid here. I've been caught in the rain and my hair still doesn't frizz, unlike with other flat irons.
IF YOU READ THEN MAYBE IT WONT PULL YOUR HAIR OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

This by far is THE best flat iron I have ever had/tried and I've have owned all from the chi,fhi,ghd,hai,and even tried the sedu. None of them compare to the maxiglide. I am aa type 4a with a little bit of 3c in the center of my head. Yes, it does take longer to flat iron, BUT after a long day (11+ hrs) of being in Houston's humidity my hair doesn't frizz,it loosely curls up(seriously) by the time I get back home and my hair is known for being horribly frizzy (note: I use chi silk & john Frieda frizz ease (in the orange bottle).This tool reminds me of a hot comb. You will get wonderful results IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS on the dvd. YES it will take longer but its worth it.
Best Flat Iron for CURLY/WAVY hair

I have wavy, very thick hair. Normal flat irons take over 30 minutes to make my hair silky straight. If you don't use the maxi glide correctly I can see how it wouldn't work. I don't use the plates with the pins. The flat plates work wonders and ... I can flat iron my hair at night and not need to touch it up the next morning. I use the steam burst for the ends and any unruly waves. The best thing about Maxi Glide ... you can buy replacement plates instead of buying a completely new flat iron. I recommend this for anyone who has curly/wavy - ethnic hair.
Wonderful product!

I've tried alot of irons but The Maxius Maxliglide is an AMAZING product that makes your hair soft and straight and feeling hydrated due to the steam and it's ability to get SUPER hot! for thick african american hair like mines it worked beyond perfectly! I would even say that it's a healthy alternative to chemical straightener because african american hair is tough and needs that strong heat to control it. There are quite a few heat settings and you're sure to find a comfortable setting to suite anyone. and you control the steam. Plus as an added bonus the product is sturdy and made WELL. There's not gonna be any breaking of the machine or anything and there's plenty of places to holdon to it carefully so that you don't burn yourself or drop it. Plus that added perfect steam bursts that YOU control makes this machine a true dream come true! for thick or course hair I would say don't use the plate with the detangling pins as it will pluck out your hair. For normal to thin hair you should use the detangling pins but LOWER THE HEAT because you don't want to burn your hair. I haven't yet used the special silicone product that goes with the Maxiglide but I can imagine that it must make the product EVEN BETTER! I can't wait to get a few maxiglides for my neices and cousins! {btw: for short hair try to used the miniglide as the maxiglide might not be appropriate for hair less than 5 or 6 inches long.}
perfectly flat,straight, fast and totally easy!!

My Daughter has the thickest and curliest hair that anyone in the world has ever had!! and then after her Cancer and her treatments, it came back in twice as thick and 10,000 times curlier, it's so bad an extra large hair band won't go around it once!!!! Anyways, with a little patience and in about 30 minutes she gets the flattest, straightest, and most smooth and shiny hair in the world!! It's totally awesome!! Nothing and I do mean NOTHING in the world has ever been able to get even 10 strands straight, let alone her entire head, and do it so quickly!! Best money spent, and best results, if you have hard to handle, and thick fat wavy and kinky hair, this is the best thing that you'll ever in your life own!! I can guarantee that you'll be satisfied, if you follow the super simple instructions, it works even better than it shows!! IT TRULY IS TOTALLY AWESOME!! BEST Money ever spent!! You WON'T regret it!!
The only straightener I would EVER USE!!

This straightener is awesome! I can't believe people are saying it is damaging their hair! I have been using it for 2 years and my hair stylist can't believe what a great job it does and she says I have perfect hair - no split ends or damage of any kind. It's the only straightener I've ever used that works this well and fast - and I have very thick, curly hair. It takes some getting used to - how much pressure to apply (as you will rip out your hair if you're smashing it together), how to use the steam without getting burned (of course steam will burn you if you're not being careful) and when and how much steam to use (which does a great job relaxing the hair). I am just so thrilled with this product - I straighten my hair EVERY day with it. So I have used it at least 700 times and have absolutely no damage whatsoever. And mine doesn't stink either. I am not sure what that's about - are you using distilled water in it (tap water can have things in it that aren't good to run thru the straightener). I don't think I could live without the MaxiGlide now that I've had one (it would be really hard)!!
Wonderful

I have thick naturaly curly hair and have tried to many irons. I can't even count them all. All of them by the end of the day my hair was so fizzy it looked terrible. With this one though I can actually skip using a few days and my hair still stays straight. It leaves my hair soft, beautiful, and I actually get complements, something I never got before both curly or with other flat irons.
