Wow how the price has come down over the years! :) Ok, seriously, I owned this amazing product for over five years! I have terrible, kinky, wanna-be curly, frizzy thick hair and this beast tamed it! I honestly spent $175 on it, and still think its the best purchase ever. Sadly, after using it once a day for five-six years straight, its coming to its end. But not yet! Its just sustaining its heat as it use to. For the price, it rocks. I'm considering another one as its replacement. I've been very happy with it. :) P.S. The photo is a before shot, once my camera starts to like me I'll submit an after shot!

I have had this straightening iron for almost 6 years and it is just starting to have some cosmetic problems. It still works just fine. I remember buying it and hoping it would last a while for the money. It has way overdone any expectations I had for it. I have crazy unruly hair and this is the only thing that has ever worked for it. BUY THIS! You will not regret it!

My hair is thick, color-treated and unmanageable. This iron, partly because of the attached comb, is able to keep the hair pieces I'm straightening in place. I'm in media and my hair has to look good every day. This iron enables me to do my 'do in about 10 minutes. I do use a heat protecting serum, but my hair rocks because of this iron. It's my second -- the first died after about six years of nearly daily use.

I've tried other flat irons with smaller plates (including the smaller Solano Sapphire iron) and this works the best for very thick, curly hair. The comb really helps expedite the straightening process. I don't understand some of the other reviews that say this doesn't straighten enough -- perhaps they did not wait for the iron to heat up? Not sure, but this works better than anything I've tried. I've had it for about 8 years and have had no problems.

I have had the Solano Sapphire hot iron for many years and it works great. The 2.25" width is much easier for me to work with than the narrow ones and the comb allows for more control. I highly reccomend this flat iron.

i love this flat iron. i bought mine 5 years ago and never had one problem. its my first and only flat iron. i bought about 6 more for the ladies in my family and everyone loves it. all have differnt hair types and it works wonders. I have tried other brands that friends have bought but none compare to the solano sapphire. my poor flat iron has just died on me but there is no way im switching to an other brand. It doesnt fry the ends of my hair. after 5 years of using it, it leaves my hair shiny and smooth.

I have very curly hair and i straighten it everyday. I have used several different brands of flat irons before and i never found one that worked good. The last iron i used was the chi it cost about $120 and my hair looked so damaged and it was still puffy, people couldnt even tell that i would straighten my hair. So when i found this online for around $80 i was kind of skeptical because i have never seen an iron that cheap so i wasnt sure how well it would work. I read many reviews before i finally decided to buy and i am so happy i bought it. This is the BEST flat iron i ever used. My hair stays flat all day even if my hair gets wet from rain or snow it still stays flat. My hair looks healthier and its so soft and silky. The true test will be when the summer comes to see if it will stand up the the humidity. But so far it has been wonderful, i have no complaints about the iron at all!!

This is the best flat iron ever. It is better than a Chi. My friend had this one and I used it at her house and I ran home and bought it immediately and had it expressed shipped to my house. It works so well, and makes your hair soft and straight. No more frizzies. It really changes the texture of your hair and it lasts all day. My hair has never looked healthier and straighter. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone and everyone. I could not live without it.

I love my straightener. I have really thick wavy hair and I hate it. I always get great comments when I use it. My sisters would always use it and I just bought one for my friend awhile ago. It's great, I recommend it to EVERYONE!

I have the thickest, most frizziest and curliest hair ever. Basically, it's a big pain to deal with. There are so many ceramic straighteners out there that it's a gamble with your money. After being recommended to this tool, I purchased it and was really happy with it. It gets the job done and leaves my hair straight and silky smooth. I love it, and would recommend it to someone looking for a decently priced straightener.
