Works well if you follow directions. Discomfort is minimal and the hair-free results are worth it.
Perfect!!

I practiced inserting the needle into the hair folical a lot while reading the directions carefully before actually going through with it. let me tell you. Read the advice section...it helps so much! i am very satisfied. none have grown back so far. and i haven't had any scars yet. so i'm set. even though it takes a lot of concentration and feels gross when you prick the inside of the folical(it kind of hurts and isn't comfortable). i would suggest some sort of numbing cream or something. but it works! and that's all that matters!
Love it!

I love the thing and have recommended it to my sister and mother. You have to take your time with it and get a lighted maginfying mirror to help you. It doesn't hurt any worse than using tweezers. I have VERY sensitive skin and it has not left any permenant marks on my face unlike tweezing. I almost didn't buy it b/c of some of the other reviews but boy am I glad I did. It runs on a battery so you can take it anywhere. Start on a low setting and work your way up if you need to. You will love it don't be discouraged!! Go for it I did and have never been happier!!
Excellent for price

I agree totally with the reviewer who said bad reviews come from: 1-people who aren't truly committed to removing their unwanted hair. 2-people who aren't using the machine properly (i.e., they don't take the plastic off the batteries, they don't use the salt water solution) 3-people who don't have a bad enough problem to make it worth the time and effort. 4-people with a very low tolerance for pain/discomfort The truth is, it is difficult, time-consuming, and can be uncomfortable, or even painful to permanently remove hair that your body wants to keep---no matter what method you use! The difference between this machine & other methods is simple---$$$$! I tried professional electolysis with a very reputable company. I mostly liked the results, but did feel there was some regrowth. The problem is, after 3 sessions at $90/hr, I couldn't afford to pay my mortgage! I tried an older version of this product once a long time ago on my bikini line, but I didn't feel it worked well enough to be worth the time and effort. However, since I started sprouting chin hair and cannot afford professional treatments, I figured it was worth another try---this time really giving it a good effort! Well, I have...and it is working BETTER than the professional treatments! The downside: I have very stubborn hair, and have to treat each hair considerably longer than it says---45 seconds, usually twice. I know this is not the recommended usage, and I do get some pretty nasty-looking marks that last for a while as a result. However, my hair growth was always ingrown, and left me with scars anyway. At least these marks are healing, whereas the ingrowns were a CONSTANT problem. (just when one would start to heal, the new hair would start coming through again---I was getting "boils" all over my chin & neck from this---NOT PRETTY!) As for "scarring"---If you are dark-skinned and/or tend to be prone to hyper-pigmentation, you could definitely be left with scars by using my method of longer treatment times. On the other hand, if you are a healthy light-skinned person who usually heals well, the marks should be temporary, esp. if you use Vitamin C (internally AND topically), and drink lots of water to promote healing. As for pain---For me, some hairs are pinful, some are nothing at all, but most fall somewhere in between. I have been able to treat those stray female chest hairs with no pain at all, as well as some rogue belly hairs. Basically, the only ones that have been seriously painful were the ones that were ingrown, but they were painful already....and at least now they aren't coming back! The bottom line is---yes, it's time-consuming...no, it's not easy...and yes, it CAN be painful. You just have to figure out if its WORTH IT for you! Now, if I can just find somebody to help me do the hairs UNDER my chin!!! I'm just not that talented! ;-)
Fantastic!

I've tried professional electrolysis and laser hair removal, but wasn't happy with the results or the cost. Didn't have much confidence in this system, but thought what the heck. After a couple of tries I found this to be easy to use, very affordable, and I'm thrilled with the results. I've been tweezing and fighting chin hairs for years and I can hardly believe they're gone. I didn't really have the problems that other users complained about. Some people mentioned scaring but I didn't have that problem. Others mentioned the pain, but I used it on the 4th setting and found it to be bearable.I did have some redness and scabing, but that didn't last long. The instructions said not to use on upper lip, but I tried it anyway. It hurt way too bad to be tempted to do it again. I can live with waxing my upper lip.

I have spent thousands of dollars on laser, electrolysis, and waxing, not to mention the hours or tweezing. This product is a great way to save money on high priced treatments. I find it effective. If you haven't had electrolysis, you might find it "painful", but so far I can tolerate the tingling. I do get a lot of fluid with each pore application, but between post-application alcohol and cream antibiotics, I don't get infections. Overall, the cost, effectiveness, and ease of this product make it well worth the effort!
only thing that works

I have tried EVERYTHING for hairs on my chin and this is absolutely the only thing that has worked for me so far. It takes alot of practice and trial and error though, the first few months I had burn marks all over my chin and neck and then I just got better at it with time and the burn spots went away. If you struggle with unwanted hair and go crazy from it, this is a great solution and alot cheaper than laser, which doesnt work long term, and going to an electrologist which is very expensive. What I like about this product is that I can just use this instead of my daily tweezing and the problem gets better. I actually broke the last one I had and havent had to do hardly any plucking in the past two months!! This is coming from a girl who used to have to spend at least an hour a day with tweezers in front of a mirror. Just be patient, if the problem is bad enough, you'll put up with the burn spots that come with the trial and errot, cause in the end it is definately worth it.
It works, be patient.

It can take a while to remove hair in large areas but it absolutely does work. my chest, abs, arms, armpits, hands, face, etc. are all completely bald. as a bodybuilder, daily shaving made my chest and neck break out badly. now they have been permanently hairless for several years. be patient. also, one laser treatmet for one bodypart will cost you 3 times as much as this machine.
I love this product

I've had unwanted hair problems on my chin and my neck for years.....it seems to run in my family. And I just can't afford professional electrolysis. This product is amazing. It does sting a little, especially in sensitive areas, but it's well worth it to get rid of embarassing hair. I haven't been able to use it much since I purchased it just because I need to get a better mirror just for this, but I did get rid of a small patch of hairs on my chin that use to drive me nuts. It's been 3 weeks now and only a few of them have grown back and will need a second treatment. Words of advice though ladies (or men as the case may be) if you have tweezed or shaved in the past and the hairs you want to remove are thick, don't pay any attention to the directions that say the hair will come out easily. Even if you use this product correctly and it does what it's supposed to do...it's still going to feel like regular tweezing when you pull that hair out.
