Great for people with borderline wavy/curly hair

I have hair that does this weird curl/wave thing. I used to use mousse and I would get annoyed at the "crunchy" feeling it gave to my hair. I bought Starlit Waves and fell in love. It gives enough stick, so my hair doesn't poof and it encourages curls (instead of waves). And my hair is soft (I am not sure whether the product makes it shiny since my hair is always shiny). I think it smells like caramel and a littly beachy. Unfortunately, it is now hard to find in stores (I think Walmart still carries it).
im so sad

Walmart and Kmart AND Shopko have all stopped carrying this product! I'm looking everywhere to order it online, and my bottle is empty. I have thinner wavy hair, and this is the best product I have found thus far to use. Anyone who said it makes their hair smell bad must have purchased a bad bottle, I love the smell. And the only way it makes your hair quote "greasy" or "matted", is if you use it in mass loads...take it easy? Spray the product evenly over your hair (when its damp) NOT dry, or else it does get a little sticky....as any product would. 5 stars, would give it 6 if i could.
LOVE IT!

This product is amazing! I have been searching everywhere for it in stores where I live and can't find it! I was so glad when I saw it on this site! Its the best, its NOT sticky at all, and makes my hair really shiny!!!
Love it!!!

I love this product. With my curly hair, most products left my hair crunchy, dry, frizzy or both. Brilliant Waves has been a life saver! With just a little spritz my curly hair has body and shine! If you are a little product happy, this product will not work for you. On the days when I sprayed a lot on my hair, I was left with weighed down, cruchy hair. When using, just remember less is better. Added bonus... my skin is very sensitive to hair products. Brilliant waves is the only product that does not makes my face break out.
Love it, Can't live without it!!

My hair is medium textured and naturally curly, but endlessly frizzy.. :-( This product makes my curls so shiny, soft, full, and shapely, I absolutely love it. I have used it on damp or dry hair and it works equally well. I use the John Frieda moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with it and that's all I need. I've never experienced stickiness or heaviness like some others have commented. Thank you Mr Frieda!
Great for fixing bad perms!

My hair is really dry after a bad perm, but in the past I used to use Ocean Waves, until it got discontinued. After wearing my hair up forever (to cover up split ends)...I can finally wear my hair down again when I use Starlit Waves. My hair looks normal, not dry. Thank you John Frieda!!!

i really love this product, my hair looks healthier and feels so beautiful wihtout all the gel i used to use, but i do not use it alone, i also use the burnet shampoo and conditioner, and the anti frizz cream thing, and alittle scweeze of gel, but i think this is what is doing the most job!

I have very curly frizzy hair. This product helps keep the curl without the frizz. Just don't over spritz..You need less than you think...great product....
Absolutely works as promised!

I purchased this on a whim just to see if what John Frieda claimed was true. No one was a bigger skeptic than me. Okay, I have mildly wavy hair to begin with but it never really looked nice enough to sport around without me looking like I'd stuck my finger in an outlet; the waves looked blah and not defined at all... more Medusa-like is accurate. But I tried this as per the directions, I used a diffuser and VOILA!!! I would never have imagined my hair looking so good and feeling so good. I have received compliments galore! Other products I have tried either weighed my hair down or made it feel stiff and unnatural. This defines waves, gives your bounce and a pretty natural feel. On the plus side, I discovered that this works so well, I actually didn't need to use a diffuser afterall! I do recommend using a "clarifying" or good cleansing shampoo and no conditioner cos the product will give you all the moisture you need!
Poker Straight Hair

I have super straight hair. I tried the much loved Ocean Waves which smells AMAZING, but it never held a curl more than 10 minutes. Regardless, I figured I'd give this a whirl. It smells just like the rest of the Brilliant Brunette line, which isn't bad. There is less "oil" than ocean waves and held the curl MUCH better! If ocean waves weighed down your hair, then this is for you! (Even though I miss the coconut smell we all learned to love)
